Treasure Mountain Festival Quilt Show

So proud of these quilts entered at the 2014 Treasure Mountain Quilt Show in Franklin, WV.

I pieced and quilted the Christmas wall hanging. And, I did the quilting for Teresa Heavner, Holly Hubbs, and Mary Grace Richardson. I couldn't be happier than to see these works of art on display. The women who pieced them are truly talented.

Look at all those pretty stitches!

I think that the interplay between quilt stitches and color on quilted tops is interesting. The design of the fabric and the quilted stitches have different roles to play. Most often, the color and pattern of the top take center stage, and that's fine with me -- my quilting plays a secondary role, but it's still critical to the overall piece. That said, of course I love a quilt pattern that allows the quilt stitches themselves to be the star of the show. I think that this pattern does that.
