Springdale Quilting, nestled in the tranquil, rural setting of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia, is the piece-full place to help create, make, and finish your family’s heirloom.
Melinda Walker is the professional behind the machine at Springdale Quilting.
For more than 20-years, I have made and loved quilts, spreading their timeless beauty among family and friends.
Always a seamstress, I began quilting, like many others, as a hand-quilter. I took classes from one of the legends of the Shenandoah Valley quilt community -- Mary Beery.
But, as time went on, I was attracted to the speed of machine quilting. I like to see projects move to completion! For me, it's a magic moment when hours spent planning, piecing and quilting are finally finished, and a new quilt is ready to use or display!
Since the purchase of my Gammill Classic Plus professional quilting machine in 2005, I have enjoyed quilting by machine and quilting for others.
I upgraded my machine to a Gammill Statler in 2011, adding computer-based technology to my skill set.
To better serve my customers, I have taken a variety of classes and have attended Machine Quilt Expo and the East Coast Statler Conference.
I look forward to helping you in any way I can and helping you finish your family’s heirloom.
Rest assured, I will treat your quilt as if it were my own, with the respect it deserves for your many hours of dedicated work in my smoke free studio.
